What is Therapeutic Yoga?


  • Therapeutic yoga is a holistic therapy that integrates mind, body, and spirit
  • Yoga is a mind-body practice with a 5,000-year history in ancient Indian philosophy.
  • Posture and physical fitness are just one aspect of yoga. Yoga connects the movement of our body and the fluctuations of the mind to the rhythm of our breath. Thus, increasing the flexibility of both our body and mind.


What will the sessions include?


  • Therapeutic yoga will include yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to improve mental and physical health
  • Breathing exercises (Prayanama): The yogi will guide students through a series of breathing exercises. This will help children and adolescents regulate emotional and stress levels.
  • Physical Posture (Asana): The yogi will teach students yoga poses that will help bring balance to the physical body as well as promote concentration.
  • Meditation: combined with yoga poses, meditation will focus on relaxation and mindfulness.
  • Guided Imagery: the yogi calms the body and mind by guiding visualizations.
